CURBSIDE COLLECTION OF CHRISTMAS TREES

A guide to when to leave your natural Christmas tree by the curb for composting collections throughout the West Island

Traditionally, January 5 is considered the official end of the Christmas holiday. Known as the twelfth day of Christmas (sung about in carols), this is the day when natural Christmas trees are removed from homes and discarded. Our West Island municipalities have collection programs to pick up Christmas trees for composting or chipping. They ask that you ensure all decorations have been removed before you place your tree curbside (not in the street). Here is a schedule of when each municipality will collect the trees:

BAIE D’URFÉ

Date(s): Monday, January 9.

Of note: Leave the tree curbside before 7 a.m.

Date(s): As of mid-January.

Of note: Trees can be dropped off at the city’s public works building (300 Beaurepaire Rd.) or at any of the park chalets, listed here.

At the end of the event, the trees will be shredded into wood chips to be used by the Village of Senneville or by its residents.
